I attended Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland, California, and received my high school degree. As O'Dowd was a college preparatory school, I felt prepared to tackle the much larger Loyola Marymount University. It was Los Angeles, CA where my college experiences allowed me to explore my passions, interests, and dreams for the world. It was in college where I allowed my skills in public speaking to flourish into the benefit of social justice. I created the first anti-racism module to exist at LMU, of which I am very proud to have achieved. From there, I was able to prove to myself that I could not only be passionate about social justice but make a true difference.
After graduation, I allowed myself to explore other passions, such as fashion, creative writing, and music, to see where else my passion could lead. I had explored my passion for music as a social media intern at Music Forward during my freshman year of college. After a gap year of pursuing this passion further, I decided to return to school as a graduate student so that I could re-enliven my passion for connecting, helping, and progressing with others. I hope the future includes my passions and I can embrace my multi-faceted nature and where it may lead me.

Education

2015-2017
Loyola Marymount University
I received my bachelor's degree in communication from Loyola Marymount University. At the university, the communications major provided us the tools and aptitude to approach communication in various fields. From rhetoric, pop culture, public speaking, African-American studies., and more. LMU created a bridge out of my communication tools that are applicable to every area of life.
2011-2014
St. Mary's College of California
I am currently working towards my master's degree in communication from St. Mary's College of California. In the program we are given the opportunity to create our an individualized research project in which we conduct studies through the lens of communication. Throughout the program I have learned about how to apply a research design, communication theories, strategic communication, social media communication, classes that feed into DEI goals, and video/audio production. At the end of the program, we are given the opportunity to teach students in Greece how to navigate social media and public speaking.
I am in the process conducting my research project (visit 'research project page' to learn more)
