About Me.
As the author of the first anti-racism module at Loyola Marymount UniversityI learned how
important it is to speak up and make change. I wrote out the module and presented it to
other faculty to show they how and why anti-racism should be addressed and spoken
about on campus at LMU. This in turn helped me become even more of a leader than I
already was and supported my ability to not only speak my mind when necessary, but
prove those thoughts with evidence.

As the representative of AAAA (African American Alumni Association) I encouraged
young black individuals on campus to keep pursuing their education and the best way to
achieve that is to show them. From this I was able to really see the effects of showing
someone how it is done instead of just talking about it.

As an intern for Live Nation I became a member of the public relations society of
America. In this fast-paced society, I needed to be able to learn and adapt quickly while
also finding the opportunity to come up with new ideas for different projects we were
working on for events.

Working as a volunteer and later a counselor with children was one of the most
rewarding experiences as working with children has many special traits. Watching as
children grow and learn to process the world and interact with it is amazing. This
position also taught me a lot of patience as children are still learning about what they
can and cannot do. I diffused and helped them through arguments when necessary and
supported them through their class lessons when needed.

Making it on the Dean’s List all of the 2020 school year was another of my greatest
accomplishments as well as I proved to myself how dedicated I was as a student even
when the world was going through a pandemic. I learned that no matter what obstacles
I may face in the future, my hard work and dedication can always see me through it to
the end.
